MagnoliaGirl Week 3 Weightloss Chronicles

rd I’m running, trying to make 100 because 99 and a half won’t do… Two people said health related things that affected me this last week, one related to the WW plan and the other to exercise.  My WW leader is fond of saying, if you work the plan, it will work.  I clearly slacked last week (remember the buttercream and tequila…).  This week I made it my mission to work the plan.  That means track every B.L.T. (bite, lick, and taste).  So I did that.  Even the cupcakes I bought from a local cupcake store.  Now don’t get me wrong.  I do not measure/weigh everything.  I do not ask the chef at a restaurant to give me a list of ingredients so that I can do a calculation on my own.  When I’m preparing my own food, I estimate the amount and enter that into the tracker.  If I’m out, I pretty much order things that have apparent ingredients.  In other words, no crazy sauces that have undisclosed amounts of butter and cream.  Some of the members of my WW group stick to pre-packaged foods and restaurants that give you the nutritional information.  I just can’t sign on for that.  We have great locally owned restaurants that produce great meals and support our local food system.  Why would I pass that up for a bland WW friendly meal at Applebees or Fridays?  That makes specific tracking difficult to impossible but who said this would be easy? The second statement related to exercise.  A friend of mine said that she would commit to going to her gym once a week, and then hopefully after it becomes a habit, start going more frequently.  I thought about that, I generally set some ludicrous workout goal like every day, or twice a day.  Last week I set the goal to get out in my neighborhood (the hilliest place in town) and walk/jog three times.  I used the 4th week of a couch to 5K podcast to guide me and around the 28th minute when the podcast was playing something like big booty hoes, I was pushing myself with Lord I’m running, trying to make 100, because 99 and a half won’t do.  I don’t remember any more words to the song but that was on repeat in my head.  And guess what for at least 2 weeks now, I’ve been doing this three times a week.  It’s a small step towards a habit but I’m happy.  This weekend I’ll be hanging out with a friend who we have to schedule our Sunday morning around because if she doesn’t get her Sunday 16-mile run in, it messes up her schedule for the rest of the week.  I’m such a hater.
Final Analysis:  I exercised and worked the WW plan.  The payoff was 1.6 lbs. gone.  Next week, I hope to not dip into my activity points.  My daily points and weekly points allowance (the extra you get that can be used for a splurge or to pad your daily points) should be sufficient to satisfy me and fuel my body.  The activity points will just be a bonus
