Blog Entry Week 2, August 24
I made it through Week 2 of Couch Potato to 5K (C25K) rather easily. This week was three 20-minute workouts of 90 seconds of jogging followed by 2 minutes of walking. It’s a rather slow start and I want to push for more. Right now, I’m running outside because the treadmill is kind of boring. The weather has been a hindrance with the thermometer stuck in the mid 90s for days at a time. That’s par for the course for summer around here, but the humidity can definitely slow down a workout outside.
Other than the weather, the only other potential barrier to this program is my knee. It seems to be holding up for now, but the running/jogging is virtually non-existent in the program until the third or fourth week. With the craziness of my schedule, the short workouts are easier to handle than 1-hour workouts. In fact, I’m down a couple of pounds. That’s probably more the result of healthier eating than the C25K program.
