Week 1- Curvycakes33 (Weightloss Chronicles)

Sunday August 9, 2009
From the time I was 23 I started a real journey of weight lost more so of creating a lifestyle wherein my weight could be managed and I could no longer shop at Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart. Two years ago I did the Medifast program and lost 30 pounds, which the shakes, soups, bars, and exercise the program was success. During that time I stopped drinking all together and began a serious workout plan. I was running about 2 miles 4 days a week and going to an hour spin class 3 times a week. After getting about 20 pounds away from my goal weight of 180 I weaned off of the 5 meal supplements to having 2 a day and began incorporating more real foods and being more controlled over my portions. Still running and spinning the weight continued to come off and I was able to keep it off for a year. And gained when I completely stopped working out and eating biscuits and sweet tea on the regular basis once I got back to the South.

Remembering success.
Today is day 1. Last night I had to remind myself that I have been successful in this weight lost before and I needed to pray and utilize all the things that worked in the past and strive for lifetime success. SO, back to the basics: writing stuff down, having breakfast, and joining a gym, and packing lunch to avoid snacking and BS meals of chips and cookies.
Breakfast had about 4oz of oj and a bowl of shredded mini wheats. Lunch a chicken breast, a cereal bar, nectarine, and a keylime yogurt to take to work. (It’s 3pm and I’ve gotten with everything but the yogurt, which will go down before I leave this afternoon)
I researched gyms that are close to me and cheap and have decided on Planet Fitness of 19.99 access to all gyms some that are 24hours just in case a workout desire hits at 3am on a Wednesday unlikely but more importantly they are everywhere and the Black card let’s you travel to other gyms. (LOL @black card)
After visiting Planet Fitness will be stopping to get Activia, some veggies, and a hen. I need to decide on meals for the rest of the week. Yard bird is pretty flexible.
Joined Planet Fitness and hit the grocery store it was so John Blazin out there once got home I inhaled several glasses of water while putting away the groceries and took a nap. The nap went from the couch to the bed. I woke up around midnight and reviewed several textbooks I plan on using this semester and went back to sleep. Heat is not my friend.
Day 2:
All breads are not created equal.
I made scrambled eggs this morning with Cheese and Chive Egg Beaters and some fresh (from my director’s garden) tomato and green pepper (dash of garlic herb Mrs Dash) and a piece of toast. Not a big white bread eater, but that’s all we have…it was gross. Will be picking up some Ezekial bread this afternoon, it has nutrients and fiber and good stuff packed in.
It’s 1:30 and I’m just finished eating lunch and prepping for dinner. Had some cherries while I cooked “fried spaghetti”, one of my favorites. I used rice noodles (wheat much better than the enriched flour), onions. Green peppers, garlic, celery, and tomato, sautéed with olive oil and seasoned with Italian seasonings. TASTY! As you see I like to eat good food that’s really important to me. I’ve done Medifast which totally works and have learned to use portion control and to eat small meals throughout the day and to balance my intake for energy all day. I also learned eating is for the purpose nutrition not cause it taste good. On another plan I think it was LA weightloss I really began to see how my body reacted to certain foods hence my switch to rice noodles over flour and wheat. So I figured I’d eat the noodles before I went to work out and have the green beans with my chicken tonight to replenish the energy in my system. I’m all done on carbs today.
Hitting the gym for some good ole cardio in a half and have decided to nix the usual Tuesday night hang out laying low this week so I can enjoy the beach this weekend.
So I made it to the gym for a hard core jog/run on the elliptical did hills, mile 1 level one, mile 2 level 4, and mile 3 level 6. 35minutes including my cool down and I was soaked and out the door.
Stuck on the phone trying to hook up the wireless for 2 hours and eat 5-6 big Swedish fish, had they NOT been sitting there I would not have eaten them … finished the night with Activia and Good Times .

Day 3: Seefood Diet
Ok, I ate some M&M’s (20ish) and one chocolate covered coffee bean again if they hadn’t been there I wouldn’t have eaten them. This eating right is like my crusade being a nicer person. If dumb people weren’t around I wouldn’t cuss or get an attitude… so I have to carry my fruit and water into the meetings so I ‘m not tempted to eat it.
Breakfast: Egg beater with tomato and green pepper, 4oz of OJ, and a half of Eziekal cinnamon English muffin
I did walk 3 miles this morning around the neighborhood and ventured out the complex to discover that a half of mile doesn’t have sidewalks so walking on grass and rocks to avoid people driving 60 miles an hour in a 45 zone, thrilling!
Snack/Lunch
As a grazer I started with my cherries (about 10-15) then ate about ½ cup of leftover pasta. I finished off on my 2nd liter of water at 1:11pm. I packed a salad with chicken and a v-8 between the two I’ll get with one before I leave this afternoon and head to the gym.
10pm I totally didn’t make the gym. I left work around 5 and literally passed out til 7. My boy came over and I made popcorn while we watched Do the Right Thing. He punished it and I had about 2 handfuls then made a can of green beans as “dinner”
Day 4:
Slow morning, got up to walk this morning with roomie, and after dragging her out of bed and being dressed we got outside and it was raining. I was unsuccessful in talking her into the gym had a banana and I went back to sleep.
Breakfast was 2 servings of egg beaters (1/2 cup) and ½ Eziakal English muffin and 4oz of OJ.
Made lunch, but went out with the faculty at work and had a mixed green salad with about 6oz salmon, 2 pieces of French bread and BUTTER (total WEAKNESS agggghhhhh)
I’m totally sore and tired and I’m talking myself into going the gym this afternoon… I may count dancing as my cardio, I’m really wanting to go to the party tonight. Last week I went and danced all night!
The coffee bean candy jumped down my throat at the meeting I think there were 4, instead of plain M&M’s 5/6 chocolate covered Almonds jumped in my throat too….ohhh the meetings.
Dinner was a prelude to a night out with the girls. I had a salad with apples and blue cheese and mixed greens as a lining to the one dirty martini and about 4 club sodas with limes. I danced for an hour or two off and on.
Day 5: Friday
I slept half of the day as I “prepare” for school to start and watched a few episodes of Living Single had a bowl of cereal around noon. Then after finally getting out of bed and out the house and doing errands I was exceptionally hunger around 4 and far from home. I had a chicken biscuit combo from Bojangles..the crack of the South…. I only ate half of the sandwich and tossed the rest. Dinner was a at child’s combo while watching The Good’s.
Day 6: Saturday Quick road trip to a small country town to visit one of my homegirls I went to undergrad with to hit da beach. I left my computer at home so I think I mentally forgot I was “back on track” hence a trip to Bojangle’s on the way there…. Egg and cheese biscuit NO bo rounds or fries and a sweet tea. Was breakfast at 10ish. The eating went downhill from that point on… my stomach is queasy as I recall the ish I put down my throat…. I will be drinking some SmoothMmove as SOON as I finish this entry…. Confession
Before the beach, slice of pizza; at the beach shared a bag of hot pork rinds; right after the beach a caramel sundae with peanuts; cookout ¼ pound hot dog, a beef kabob, cabbage, and a piece of watermelon.
Day 7: Sunday:
Clearly I didn’t wake up hungry, however my girl made breakfast: 2 med pancakes, 3 pieces of bacon, and scrambled eggs. We made a cake as we waited I think my girl opened more pork rinds, had few once the pound cake was ready I had some while it was still warm..… on the way home I had a small fry and a small diet coke (I think I laughed when I ordered it, it’s funny again as I type). Dinner was a bowl of watermelon chunks to help the digestion…. I might need a colonic I’m full from beef and pork from yesterday.
Lessons learn from this weekend: take computer with me EVERYWHERE to keep track as food goes in, maybe after typing pork rinds will stop the eating of other S***, even on “vacation” there has to be a some sort of schedule, PACK FRUIT and GOOD snacks on these excursions to the country! Getting through the first 14 days is critical…. Tomorrow, take two!
I meet with the trainer from the gym at 8:30am
