Product Review: Pantene Relaxed and Natural Breakage Defense Mask Deep Conditioning

pantene-damage-maskAlright ladies. I heard some wonderful things about this mask and I decided to try it. I was a little sceptical because its Pantene (you know made for pink folks). I decided to use the Mask as a deep conditioner. The product was thick and moisturizing and has a light floral scent to it.
As soon as I slathered it into my hair my curls melted like butter. No time instructions are given in the directions so I left it on my hair for 40 minutes and sat under the dryer.   I always try and detangle my hair after deep conditioning so I do less damage to my hair.  The comb slid through my curls with ease and my hair felt super moisturized.

I next tried it as a leave in when I did my twist outs.  I didn’t notice my hair become dried out so I know it worked well in conjunction with my other twist out products.  I do believe this mask will be added to my Hallelujah hair list.

The only problem I had was finding the products.  I love to patronize Black Businesses and I couldn’t find it in my local beauty supply store.  Some natural beauties suggested I check for the product at Wal-Mart or Target.  No Dice.  I finally stumbled on it at the other folks beauty supply store ( you know who I mean).  If I use the product again, I will have to buy it in bulk or find it on the net.

Has anyone else tried this product?

If you use it where did you find it?

Thanks, I'll be sure to try it out!
  • I find that my hair is really moisturized when I rinse the conditioner out. I also use it as a leave in. I say give the conditioner a shot. For only around $5 its so cheap you could hate it or love it and not feel guilty like some of the more pricey products.

I could see your dermatologist saying scrap Shea. I love it but sometimes if I use it excessively or do not wrap my hair it causes oil issues with my face.

My dermatologist actually recommended that I try this conditioner...but I'm a little hesitant, b/c other naturals informed me that they didn't particularly care for this product.... What's your hairtype? Current;y I've been using Nexxus leave-in conditioners for my hair, and I have no complaints, except that I want more moisture...as my dermatologist recommended that I scrap organic shea butter as a moisturizer. Does this brand of Pantene, really moisturize hair??? I'm a natural by the way (no heat usage either)

I too love it and the regular breakage defense conditioner is good for co washes.

I *love* this product as well as other conditioners in the relaxed and natural line. I always find it at RiteAid or CVS. Two thumbs up to Pantene for this line!
