No Sextin’ For Me

When I was in college I remember being on Black Planet or testing out my internet chat skills on AOL in Black Voices chat rooms. Occasionally, I would chat with a guy who was reaaaaal extra online and got the bright idea to send me pictures of his “Magic Stick” or half nekkid body pictures. I don’t know what female was all turned out by these photos but someone was liking these stick shots because they became more frequent. Some men were so bold as to ask me to picture swap. So you send me unsolicited photos of your stick and ball and you want me to take bukkid nekkid shots to trade with you on the net…..you must be on that goood ooooweee homey because that wasn’t happenin!!
I have no idea why people feel the need to send bukkid nekkid photos through the net. Don’t you know that whatever you put out on the Internet is for eva eva. You never know who is going to get that stuff and someone is gonna bring a copy of it up when you try to do something important in life. I knew that even as a teenager, so I don’t get all this harmless talk these teens and young folks are hollering about.
A recent survey showed that the notion that “sexting” is just “young people fooling around or experimenting” is false, as the statistics for this behavior rise even higher for young adults in their 20s.
33% of young adults surveyed (both men and women ages 20-26) say they have sent or posted images of themselves. Based upon this message one of yall just sent a sext a little while ago……dirty dirty
The survey also reported that sending sexually explicit messages is even more prevalent: 49% of all those surveyed indicated that they have sent these types of messages and more than 56% have received them. When asked why they do it, the answers ranged from “it’s fun,” “it’s flirting,” “it’s a present for my boyfriend” to “it might help me to hook up with someone I like” or “it’s just a joke.” Although nearly 75% of those surveyed indicated that they believed that sending this type of material can have serious consequences, 25% percent suggested this behavior was “no big deal.”
