Beauty on a Budget

Beauty on a BudgetMoney is tight right now and I know everyone is trying to save a buck. Here is my suggestion check out your local beauty school. I am in love with Aveda products and I stumbled across their beauty school. I was amazed by some of the deals I found there.

I have been looking to try out waxing and to quit shaving. Who knew there was a difference between hard wax and strip waxing?? I sure didn’t! My first experience was at my local salon. The lady used strip wax, I felt like she was stealing my soul or I was in that scene from 40 Year Old Virgin, and I paid too much. A girl friend of mine hipped me to hard wax and suggested I give it a try.

I figured I might try the Aveda school for a wax so I could test out the product, the esthetician would be gentle, and I could save some dough (waxing cost $22!!). The wax was awesome!! No pain and excellent service.

You can get waxing, facials, pedicures, manicures, relaxers, color, and just about any service at a beauty school for half the price of a regular service. I don’t know if I am brave enough to let them do my hair, but I have had a mani/pedi, wax, and facial done with no problems.

So check out your local beauty school and especially Aveda if you love their products. Also, if you love massages try a massage therapy school. Go pamper yourself for half the price.

Here is to looking fly and feeling great on a budget!!
