I love Oprah for her honesty. Weightloss is a hard, rocky journey, and moreover....its never ending. People need to lay off her. She isnt a bad role model, she quite possibly is the BEST role model because she acknowledges the difficulties in weightloss and says hey, if you don't keep an eye out and make real LIFESTYLE changes, then this too can happen to you. I applaud her.

I agree and I am glad that Oprah can be honest with herself and America. It takes alot to admit that you have failed at something. Oprah's weight has been the brunt of jokes and comedy for years. If you can admit failure when you know the world will comment it shows your strength.

Everyone has fallen off the weight wagon. What matters is how you jump back on. Also, an important factor is learning why you are back at square 1 and making the right changes and decisions.

Cheers Oprah.

Oprah is a good role model because she can admit that she isn't perfect and quite frankly she struggles with the same issues that many women do. I myself dieted and lost 30 pounds for my wedding last year and 1 1/2 years later I hate to admit it, but it is all back and then some. I have become complacent and I have convinced myself that it is okay to be overweight and unhealthy. You would have thought going to the doctor and being told my cholesterol is too high would have been enough to kick me into high gear, but all I have done was continue to eat more of what I shouldn't. Oprah's article was a true wake up call for me to get my weight under control and this time permanently and most importantly for myself...not a person or an event.

I actually love Oprah for being honest about the struggles of weight loss. Especially since she is dealing with a serious food addiction brought on by a series of traumatic life experiences. I'm rooting for Lady O!

p.s. love you site!

I yo yo between a size 10 and size 14 (usually spending a lot of time in and out of 12). Right now I'm at a 10 -thanks to the Lord and a visit to the nutritionist a couple of months ago. It is a hard, never ending effort to watch what I eat, exercise and not get complacent. I know I can never stop paying attention, I know that I gain weight just looking at a muffin and that if I'm not careful, I'll do more than look. I just accept it and work it in. Have to.
