Stars Ballin’ Out of Control: Foreclosure Edition

Black people, Black People……  When will we learn to get our finances in order?  

  The bank just filed foreclosure paperwork on Damon Dash.  He currently owes $7.3 million on two of his Manhattan apartments for failure to pay his combined  $78,500 per month mortgages.  $78,500 per month????  Good Lawd, that’s a lotta money!!

 He could purchase about 3 ballerific pads in Vegas for that price.  I know its Manhatten but seriously Dame. 

Jermaine Dupri’s Atlanta restaurant, Cafe Dupri recently closed this week and workers were left high and dry without warning.  Several workers complained that they have not been paid in weeks and their checks repeatedly bounced.  Dupri’s mother blames the staff and said, “if employees had worked harder Cafe Dupri might still be open.”  Ummm seriously???  Can’t Janet loan him some money?

Aretha Franklin’s home was in foreclosure in early March of 2008.  the singer owed back taxes on her $714,000 brick mansion and on a $2 million condo in Bloomfield Township .  Franklin blamed an attorney’s mistake and said she planned to immediately pay off the debts.

Evander Holyfield defaulted on a $10 million loan to Washington Mutual. That’s just one of his money woes. Holyfield, 45, also owes more than half a million for landscaping, and he’s being sued for back child support. Reportedly he wants to get back in the ring to bring in some quick dough.

I guess the recession is hitting every one right? 

If you can’t pay the rent …..when do you start downscaling?
