Fitness Challenge!

Dear P.O.S.H Readers,

We, the editors of P.O.S.H, would like to issue a fitness challenge to all our readers. In an effort to encourage our readers to get fit (and stay fit!) we are issuing a challenge to our readers. We want everyone to dedicate at least 90 minutes a day to some form of exercise. It has been scientifically proven that 90 minutes of activity a day will significantly assist in maintaining an individual’s weight. This activity could include walking up stairs, walking around town as opposed to driving, walking the dog, cleaning the house, gardening….you get the point….as well as regular exercise at the gym. Moreover, it has been shown that a 10% reduction of one’s body weight will significantly lower one’s chances of health risks such as diabetes, arthritis, cancer, heart disease, etc.
For those readers who decide to enter our challenge, they must pledge to dedicate at least 90 minutes per day to activity (we suggest adding cardio and weight training as part of that 90 minute activity). At the end of the summer, the readers will submit a before and after picture and short story of their exercise/health regimen. The reader who has the best before and after picture accompanied with the best workout/health regimen will win a free photo shoot with yours truly in Washington, D.C. (for those who don’t know, I’m a professional photographer. Check out www.vanitybylondon.com). The photos should be full body shots taken in form fitting work out gear or bathing suits (please, no nude photos…no need for all THAT!). Before and after pics must have dates on the photos (don’t want people submitting pics of themselves 2 years ago!). The essays should be no more than 250 words describing how you changed your lifestyle to be more health conscious.
Essays and pictures should be emailed to poshlifeposhstyle@gmail.com by August 30, 2008 by midnight. If you are interested, you MUST leave a comment on the page. Any questions??? Leave a comment so we can answer it publicly (someone else may have the same question). Alternatively, email us!
Note, we are intentionally not putting strict guidelines as to what constitutes activity and exercise for a reason. We want readers to work at their own pace. While I may be able to do 90 minutes of cardio and weights in the gym, another reader may not be at my fitness level. Therefore, be unique in your activity! Do things that you like and that your body is capable of doing without injuring yourself. We are not judging you against one another, rather we are judging you against yourselves! Good luck everyone! Hopefully this will encourage our community to lead healthier lives! I look forward to hearing from everyone!
Peace and Blessings,
Esquire :)

I think someone loves me enough to give me a photo shoot anyway...lol. But, since I'm in the gym for about 90 minutes a day anyway...I might as well join the challenge. :)
